This was our first ever investigation at Scolton Manor in Pembrokeshire and oh! What a night it was!
A location we would now certainly not recommend for the feint hearted. As we drove up the driveway in the pitch black of night, through the tall trees and bushes suddenly appears the pale manor house, impressive yet with a strange oppressive feeling about it. Upon entering the building we were amazed by the detail of the furnishings and displays in each room which really does recreate the opulence of the buildings era. All felt calm at this time until we went to inspect the upstairs where strange feelings came over us, feeding our curiosity and making us want to start investigating even before the guests arrived, which we resisted with great difficulty.
During our first vigil of the night, the group were holding hands in a circle in the large entrance hall where the majority of guests were instantly sensing the presence of a spirit looking over the landing, watching us intensely (interestingly the same area where we felt something before the guests arrived). Within minutes of starting this vigil, various items of our paranormal equipment were activated and people were hearing various vocalisations from persons unseen. I was impressed at this point with what was happening as well as feeling a little unnerved by so much happening so quickly, what else could we be in for if this was just the start?
Situated behind two guests was a doorway where some noises were coming from and someone said they thought they witnessed a person walk through the room, but no one was in there, I even checked it myself. Then myself and another guest were shocked to witness a shadow move at speed towards the two guests in the doorway which caused a lot of excitement let me tell you. Then we observed what appeared to be a grey mist between them and I decided to take a photo and low and behold, the grey mist appeared on the photo!!!! See attached photo. My mind was blown, and at this point I was ready to retire from ghost hunting as what could possibly top this! A guest suggested we place a cat ball in that area which I did and to my shock, on command, the spirit lit the ball and did so each time we asked. Incredible. Mind blown!
The rest of the night did not disappoint either with lots of interesting occurrences throughout. however I do not want to divulge too much as i don’t want to give anything away should any of you choose to make the journey to this epic location which has firmly earned it’s place in my top 7 locations!
Thanks for reading and keep your eyes peeled for my next blog.
