About Scolton Manor

Scolton Manor as it stands today is a victorian manor house completed in 1842. Scolton Manor is nestled in the Scolton estate, the estate its self was owned by the Higgons family since the late Elizabethan era. The Scolton and Higgon stories are closely linked from the time of Shakespeare and Queen Elizabeth onwards. During the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, the family was forced away for an uncertain number of decades after a catastrophic fire destroyed the old house. But by the 1830s James Higgon had put in motion plans to return to Scolton, and early in the next decade were completed the manor, stable block and walled garden that still stand today. From then on the family, house and estate were at the heart of the social and economic life of the area. Scolton’s need for staff made it the region’s chief employer and a local hub; successive generations of Higgons produced three Sheriffs of Pembrokeshire, as well as heroes of both World Wars; and the house itself served as a convalescent hospital for servicemen during the Second World War.

From devastating fires to alleged illegitimate children, there is so much history associated with this old manor house, there is no surprise that there are stories of spooky goings on, from objects moving of their own accord, singing coming from empty rooms along with dark figures that have been seen on many occasions by staff and visitors alike. 30 East Drive

Will you dare to enter the infamous poltergeist house that is 30 East Drive in Pontefract, West Yorkshire?

When the Pritchard family moved into this unassuming house in 1966 they thought they had found their dream home, that was until the poltergeist now known as ‘Fred’ started to target the family with strange and unexplainable events which over the years grew increasingly frightening and violent.

As documented in the film based on the events which took place in the house, ‘when the lights went out’, Fred aimed his most aggressive and terrifying attacks at the Pritchard’s young children, Phillip and Diane.

With activity in abundance at this location, we can honestly say that all the times we have visited, we have never left disappointed. Objects get moved, doors close, doors open, foot steps are heard, figures are seen walking the stairs and landing and apparitions are often captured on camera in the mirror at the bottom of the stairs and things are thrown around the house. Most recently in a fit of temper, Fred trashed Diane’s bedroom. Who will be brave enough to do a lone vigil in the completely dark, cold and frightening coal house?

A highly recommended location for a ghost hunt. Who will you find lurking behind a door or in one of the bedrooms?

Sleepover Events are an additional £10 per person and payable by cash on the night. (9.30pm – 2am sleepover form 2am – 8am).

About Thorne Workhouse

Built in the early 1800’s, life for the people who lived and worked at Thorne Workhouse described it as being as harsh as any prison. Starving and often beaten and left with no other option but to continue to exist in such sad conditions.

Needless to say, many of the poor lived and died in this building and some have been unable to move on as Thorne is all they have ever known or can remember and so continue to haunt the location.

With reports of the sounds of screaming and crying, heavy footsteps, doors banging closed, people being touched and pushed and even items moving of their own accord, there’s no wonder this place is infamous for its hauntings. some staff and visitors refuse to enter certain areas of this location due to the horrible feelings or activity they have experienced.

Experience the history and thrill of our overnight ghost hunt, guided by our experienced team you will be given the opportunity to take part in many structured vigils throughout the night using an array of equipment and techniques, such as séances, dowsing, table tipping, ouija boards, spirit boxes and K2 meters and more.

How do you fancy the full ghost hunting experience? We have some events that offer just that! which means you can enjoy an evening meal followed by a ghost hunt, you will then have the opportunity to bed down for the night in the very same place you have been investigating with a light breakfast before your journey home.
