The Pendle witch trials of 1612 remain a haunting chapter in English history. Accused of witchcraft and charged with the murders of ten people, twelve individuals from the Pendle Hill area faced a series of trials. These trials, including the Lancaster Assizes and York Assizes, have become known as the Lancashire witch trials. Tragically, ten were found guilty and executed, while one was acquitted and another died in prison. Let us remember this dark period and strive for a more just and enlightened world.
