Fort Widley is on of the forts that is built on portsdown hill in Portsmouth. The fort was built between 1860 and 1868, it was designed to protect portsmouth from land and sea attacks. During the victorian period were used along wiht other portsdown forts to accommodate infantry units in the barracks and was used throughout the first and second world war and is now a grade 2 listed building.

Fort Widley has a maze of underground tunnels and chambers. Over its 140 year history this vast location has had numerous reports of ghostly sightings and spooky goings on. There are some well known spooky happenings at Fort Widley including ghostly whistles which is thought to be that of a sergeant major and a drummer boy who was once chased by an officer and then fell to his death down the spiral staircase.

There has also been footsteps, banging and dragging noises witnessed by paranormal investigators duirng past investigations, there is thought to be a female energy which haunts this location, she is thought to have died at the site and it is said that her spirit has never left.

On events that are priced at £40 or above we offer a non refundable deposit option of £20 per person and the remaining due one month prior to the event.
