Clitheroe Castle Ghost Hunts

Clitheroe Castle in Lancashire sits proudly on top of its lime stone mound over looking the picturesque town of Clitheroe with panoramic views of of the Ribble Valley’s historic landscape, with Pendle hill sitting in the distance. A castle has dominated this skyline for over 800 years and could date back as far as 1102.

The Medieval keep that we see today is very small, the second smallest in the country. Today, only the keep and the walls around it are all that’s left of medieval times. The buildings in the bailey grounds date from the Georgian period. On the site there is the castle house which is Clitheroe Castle Museum, which has extensive displays of the geology of the area as well as the human history of the Clitheroe region, stretching from the prehistoric to the present day.

During your ghost hunt at Clitheroe Castle you will get to investigate the castle keep and the castle museum.

Over the years there have been numerous spooky happenings that could not be explained, from visitors feeling unwell in certain areas of the museum, people being touched by unseen hands in the castle keep, strange voice phenomenon captured on EVP experiments.
