About Graiseley Old Hall, Also Know As The House That Cries

Graiseley Old Hall in Wolverhampton could possibly be the city’s Oldest surviving building. It is mentioned in records dating back 600 years. In 1930, the Royal Wolverhampton School bought Graiseley Old Hall and used it for administration purposes.

Graiseley’s old hall was given the name ‘The House That Cries’ by the BBC following the unexplained pools of water that would appear in the main hall. The owners and visitors have witnessed these strange occurrences on many occasions.

After many reports of hauntings in the local news, a local resident wrote to the owner to tell them of the poltergeist haunting they experienced. Reverand Pearce said the hauntings appeared to target their children.

Future tenants at the property became very aware of ghostly goings-on, voices from empty rooms, icy cold spots, door handles being rattled, and the feeling of being watched. On some occasions, dark shadows were seen moving around the property, not to mention the mysterious pools of water.
