About Wisbech Castle
Join us as we take you on an adventure to Wisbech Castle, this location has a long history, there has been a castle on this site since 1072 and was rebuilt in stone in 1087 but was destroyed in a flood in 1236. The castle was rebuilt by 1500. In Tudor times the castle became a notorious prison during the reign of Queen Mary (1553–1558) Protestants were imprisoned here during her restoration of Roman Catholicism. it is said that some were imprisoned but then removed and later burnt at the stake.

Arrival is 15 minutes before the event start time, early admittance is not permitted.
