About Oxford Castle
Oxford castle is a large Norman medieval castle. The castle has witnessed many battles including the English civil war, where it served as the temporary royal capital. The castle has had many royal and noble visitors over the years, some who passed away within its walls.
Later used as the county prison for Oxfordshire and Berkshire with many upgrades made to the building during this time and only closing as a prison in 1996.
Poltergeist activity and ghostly apparitions have been witnessed here, particularly in the crypt which dates back 900 years. An abundance of activity has also been reported in the cells, doors have been witnessed slamming shut of their own accord, heavy foot steps and people being touched have all been experienced here, some of these spooky goings on have even been experienced by the castle tour guides.
On your ghost hunt at Oxford Castle you will gain exclusive access to explore the building in an attempt to contact the other side. Do you have the what it takes to spend the night in one of the UK’s most haunted buildings for a ghost hunt and sleepover?
There will be a sandwich buffet available and from 3am we let you decide what to do next, you can either choose to sleep or carry on ghost hunting. A light breakfast will be served which consists of pastries, fruit juice and tea/coffee.
The event will run from 9pm -8am
- A guided tour of the castle
- Work in smaller and more personal groups
- Take part in a variety of activities such as glass divination, table tipping, séances and Ouija boards
- Use of ghost hunting equipment such as K-II, EDI+ meter, trigger objects and ghost meters, REM Pods and more
- Complimentary refreshments and sandwich buffet
- Complimentary light breakfast
- Free time from 3am, either to sleep or carry on ghost hunting.
Please note all guests are required to bring their own sleeping bags and pillows.

After the initial booking confirmation sent by our system we will then email you 5-7days before the event with the arrival instructions etc.
On events that are priced at £40 or above we offer a non refundable deposit option of £20 per person and the remaining due one month prior to the event.

When booking using the deposit option you agree to pay any outstanding balance one month prior to the event.
